Netflix Documentaries That You Have To Watch

netflix docs

I seriously love the fact that in today’s day in age, we don’t actually need cable to watch our favorite shows. Since us millennials usually rely on social media to get the latest scoop or news in general. With all this technology now, an easy and affordable internet subscription is literally all you need, whether in be Netflix, iFlix, Amazon Prime or Hulu.

If it isn’t obvious yet, I am a Netflix user and these are a few of my favorite documentaries that you can easily click through over there!

Chef’s Table | If you are into degustation and seeing how these fancy restaurants come up with their out of this world dishes, this might be your TV show. Although not as casual as Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown or No Resevations, but it is still worth a watch! Tip: probably not the best idea to watch this before you head to bed for obvious reasons…

Abstract The Art of Design | The art and design bug in me just bursted for joy when I heard about this series coming out! Its shows literally art in all shapes and forms, with the master’s behind it. This documentary just shows that there is definitely more than meets the eye and so SO much though is put in creating an art form or anything for that matter.

The People Versus O.J. Simpson | As a self-proclaimed Kardashian fan, I was more inclined to watch this because Kim K’s dad is one of the main stars on this film. But in all seriousness, I just wanted to be more informed of one of the biggest crime stories. ever.

Tales By Light | I was instantly hooked on to this series as soon as I watched the 1st episode. This documentary is a perfect mix of beautiful cinematography, travel and nature. The directors/photographers/filmmakers captured their surroundings so beautifully. It will seriously be a feast for your eyes if you are into good film making and travel photography.

Metropolis | If you are interested on how our great ancient cities were made, down to the government, infrastructure, transportation and architecture. This might be your fave documentary! Each episode tells a story of a different city, even of city that date from Before Christ! Crazy! Go watch!

Twinsters | Of all the documentaries on this list, this has got to be the one that got me crying like a baby! A story of twin sisters separated at adoption and how they find their way back to each other. It makes me wish I had a sister! 😥

Cowspiracy | It has been over a year now that I have decided to give up red meat (pork, beef, lamb, etc.) Naturally, at first, I was feeling uneasy about the decision I made. But after watching Before The Flood and Cowspiracy, it gave me more reasons to continue to give up those types of meat. It shows what kind of impact humans have on the world. Powerful stuff.

CoLab Vs Dove Dry Shampoo Review

DSC01570

In the past year, I have been gravitating more and more to dry shampoo. I once thought it was annoying, itchy and unhygienic to use it since it prolongs the wear of your hair. But when I started really using it, I started to like it a bit more, especially after all sweaty when you need that fresh hair smell after the gym.

From what I can remember, Dove Dry Shampoo was the very first dry shampoo brand that I have tried. I didn’t find it all to comfort to wear at first, but I guess it grew on me. The verdict on the Dove Dry Shampoo is that I noticed that upon spray this on to my roots the product gave white streaks on my hair. This doesn’t bother THAT much because I have brown hair but this might be a problem for dark haired people.

I don’t think that there is any scent to it. It just smells fresh like soap or what. But all in all, its pretty good for the median price you pay, but could still be better I think!

This is something that I have just tried recently(I’m on my second bottle already), the COLAB Dry Shampoo in New York (and available in other scents) is brand by Ruth Crilly(amodelrecommends). What I really like about this brand of dry shampoo is that they offer a few scents to choose from depending on what is your favorite scent. Although I noticed that the tin empties faster, I think that it still makes up for it. But I feel that upon spraying this on to your hair, everything is find but I noticed that my hair still goes back to becoming oily after a few hours.

So if you were to buy a dry shampoo, which brand will give you a bang for your buck? Can you guess it?

Huge Colourpop Haul and Swatches!

DSC01216

So, I just made an order for Colourpop a few weeks ago and I am so not guilty about it. I mainly got products from the lip section because it is infamously known for their great quality and value. I mean $6 for something of that caliber. Damn!

The Colourpop has recently branched out too a bunch of other beauty ranges like powders, highlighters, eyeshadows and a ton of different collaborations with well-known beauty aficionados. But they are mainly known to have a wide range liquid lipsticks that range from Ultra matte lip, Ultra satin lip, Ultra glossy lip, Ultra metallic lip, Lippie Stix and many many more.

Since I had the chance to order some, I had to narrowed down the products that I wanted to what I actually needed(basically the shades that I can use to work everyday). I previously purchased Ultra Matte Lip in Beeper and the Ultra Satin Lip in Echo Park, and after some testing I thought that the formula of the Satin Lip was WAY more comfortable to wear than the Matte Lip.

DSC01198Let me start with the Lippie Stix shades… The Colourpop Lippie Stix in Boys Town Creme is a great rich creamy nude shade. This has got to be the most comfortable one of the bunch. Then the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Cami Matte is a matte dusty rose color. It isn’t too pink toned, which I like. While the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Hype Girl Matte is a bit to barbie-esque for me. I shall wait for a fancy dress party and try to pull of a Barbie make up look then!

For the liquid lipsticks, I was generally going for more of the Satin Lip spectrum. The Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Calypso, I found was a (sort of) dupe for the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Cami Matte. The Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Chi is a more brown nude but not too brown that of the Ultra Matte Lip in Beeper. It reminds me of the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow N Arrow, but a tad bit darker. While the Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Aquarius is a light pink-ish nude, not too barbie for my taste!

The cherry on top of all these has got to be the Colourpop Super Shock Highlighter in Lunch Money! It’s color pay-off is mind blowing! When you look at it with the packaging, it looks like a powder, but when you actually swatch it, it feels like a cream! It was love at first sight with this one! Watch out for some instagram looks with this new highlighter!
