What’s In My Makeup Bag | Tropical Holiday

In celebration of finishing my architectural thesis and my degree as a whole, my closest college friends and I planned a trip to Bali, Indonesia to sort of reward ourselves for a job well done! Plus we love to travel! These are a few bits that I threw in my makeup bag for our little tropical holiday in the mountains of Ubud!

Since the weather in Bali is expected to be quite hot–as per usual. I decided to pack only one type of foundation–taps self. I packed my Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer in Ivory because I wanted something a bit on the lighter side, some hydration and something that has a little bit of SPF in it. But this girl cannot live without bringing two types of concealers. I packed the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer in Brightener to counteract my dark circles and the Revlon Colorstay Concealer in Pale for a second coat–just because I want to be sure! Then to set it all, I brought the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light to do the job.

When it comes to contour and blush, I can always count on my Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil to give me some color and dimension. I prefer not using a highlighter during these tropical months because to be honest, it just makes you look more sweaty than you were before. Instead I brought a peachy blush with a hint of sparkle, the Milani Baked Blush in Luminuoso.

I honestly don’t want to go crazy with my eyes during my trip since I know it will just melt of during our day tours. So just packed a Maybelline Paint Pot in Creamy Beige and to set, I can just dap some of my bronzer on there! For brows, I am sticking to my Pixi Natural Brow Duo because it is double ended, one end has a crayon like nib while the other is a setting gel. Setting gels come in handy in really hot and humid climates.

I am all about a hydrating and nourishing lip. So I just had to bring one of my cult lip favorites, Clarins Lip Perfector in 02 and L’Oreal Color Riche Lipstick in Beige Sienna. And if I wanted something a bit more dressy or something with a bit more color, the Laura Mercier Lipstick in Lychee Parfait and MAC Amplified Lipstick in Cosmo would do just that!

Hope this post helped you learn more about what its like living in the tropics!

Would love to hear from you!
