You might ask, What’s difference of highlight and glow? Well, I am here to tell you that they are almost the same thing because they illuminate your face. But how I see the slight difference is that highlighter is more of a bright toned illuminator, while glow is more of a yellow toned illuminator(Like that Beyonce glow).
So I am not saying that these are the only ways to get that glow, but these are the few options that I use from my collection. I currently have 3 types of highlighters. These are liquid, powder and stick/pencil form.
The NARS Illuminator in Orgasm is one of the most sought after highlighters in the market for its high reliablity and staying power. This might sound familiar because they also have a famous blush named Orgasm. It is a liquid formula that resembles to a creamier consistency. Because of my fair skin, this highlighter can be doubled as a blush as well. When swatched it has more of a pink/peachy shade. I think this would look great on those with a deeper skin tone. Oh yeah! A little goes a LONG way with this, so use it sparingly!
Next one, the KIKO Make Up Milano Highlight Pencil, that actually came in a set with a contour pencil as well. Although I am afraid that this product is discontinued(sorry) but do try Smashbox or Nudestix’s version! I’ve read that they are a full A star! This highlight pencil is the most low key of the bunch in this post. It has a very subtle finish.
The last one, the Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette in Streak, is actually a full contour, blush and highlight powder palette that comes in handy a lot(especially for travel). I like using the highlight/glow shade because it has a lovely iridescence to it. I find that this is the middle ground of the 3 highlighters/glow products int his post. It has a nice golden shade to it that isn’t over powering in any way. It also has a decent amount of staying power that doesn’t make you look sweaty.
I just want to say that I don’t have any favorites with any of these highlighters okay! I just put on whatever I feel like or mood I am in. (Cause you know, YOLO!)
Check out these photos if you want to see the highlighters in full action!
I hope you all found this post helpful in upping your highlight game!
