This baby has been in my makeup arsenal for about a month now and I have to be honest that it didn’t quite work for me in the first few tries of applying it. The L’Oreal Nude Magique Cushion is actually the first cushion type foundation that I have used, ever. I got this in the shade Rose Vanilla in a Priceline(drugstore) in Sydney, Australia because the anticipation for it to come to the Philippines was already killing me.
I decided to pick the L’Oreal Nude Magique Cushion instead of the Maybelline Super BB Cushion because I watched a few reviews comparing both and they consistently mentioned the L’Oreal cushion was better. It is also on the more pricey side of L’Oreal foundations.
I have a feeling that I got it one shade darker than my skin tone. But good thing I have been jogging and swimming outdoors more which makes me a tad bit more tan than usual.
The packaging is the standard BB cushion design comparable to brands like Lancome, Guerlain, Maybelline and Etude House because it seems like there is only one efficient way to get the product out. The cushion for application just sits on the clipping cover as you open the compact.
The wear of this BB cushion was quite comfortable(as expected). It gave me a solid medium coverage foundation. In applying this, I would need to do 3-5 pats with the applicator sponge to get my usual desired coverage.
At first, I thought this shade was a bit too dark for me because I would arrive home with a really tan(brown) forehead, which was really off my actual skin tone. I was actually wondering if this was because it oxides during the wear(? maybe). But when I tried to pari it with a light concealer and some illuminating pressed powder, it wasn’t too tan anymore.
So overall, this is a great example of a high street BB cushion foundation. I could only imagine how well the higher end cushion foundations apply for now. But this is a great start!
