Huge Colourpop Haul and Swatches!

DSC01216

So, I just made an order for Colourpop a few weeks ago and I am so not guilty about it. I mainly got products from the lip section because it is infamously known for their great quality and value. I mean $6 for something of that caliber. Damn!

The Colourpop has recently branched out too a bunch of other beauty ranges like powders, highlighters, eyeshadows and a ton of different collaborations with well-known beauty aficionados. But they are mainly known to have a wide range liquid lipsticks that range from Ultra matte lip, Ultra satin lip, Ultra glossy lip, Ultra metallic lip, Lippie Stix and many many more.

Since I had the chance to order some, I had to narrowed down the products that I wanted to what I actually needed(basically the shades that I can use to work everyday). I previously purchased Ultra Matte Lip in Beeper and the Ultra Satin Lip in Echo Park, and after some testing I thought that the formula of the Satin Lip was WAY more comfortable to wear than the Matte Lip.

DSC01198Let me start with the Lippie Stix shades… The Colourpop Lippie Stix in Boys Town Creme is a great rich creamy nude shade. This has got to be the most comfortable one of the bunch. Then the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Cami Matte is a matte dusty rose color. It isn’t too pink toned, which I like. While the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Hype Girl Matte is a bit to barbie-esque for me. I shall wait for a fancy dress party and try to pull of a Barbie make up look then!

For the liquid lipsticks, I was generally going for more of the Satin Lip spectrum. The Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Calypso, I found was a (sort of) dupe for the Colourpop Lippie Stix in Cami Matte. The Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Chi is a more brown nude but not too brown that of the Ultra Matte Lip in Beeper. It reminds me of the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow N Arrow, but a tad bit darker. While the Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Aquarius is a light pink-ish nude, not too barbie for my taste!

The cherry on top of all these has got to be the Colourpop Super Shock Highlighter in Lunch Money! It’s color pay-off is mind blowing! When you look at it with the packaging, it looks like a powder, but when you actually swatch it, it feels like a cream! It was love at first sight with this one! Watch out for some instagram looks with this new highlighter!

Tarte Amazonian Clay Tinted Primer Review

DSC01166

If you haven’t noticed yet, I am (kind of) obsessed with Tarte bases. I think this one will be my 4th(?) already. I don’t know I keep loosing count. I picked this up on my trip to Australia last year. I wasn’t really in search of anything in particular, but since I am a creature of habit, I just had to get something ‘base’ related and then I stumbled upon the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment in Light! Ugh, can I just say this just BOMB!

I just had to pick this up because my research told me that this (bb) cream was an all in one skin care, makeup invention! It is basically a primer, moisturiser and a light foundation.

On application, the primer is matte on the skin and spreads evenly really well. I use this on top of sunscreen, even if it already has SPF 30 in it. The more SPF, the better! I feel that I don’t really need to add another base product on top of this because it’s consistency is a bit (thick), but not like too thick.

I prefer dotting this all over my face then spreading it with one of those tooth brush brushes(not an actual toothbrush!). I instantly felt the difference of smoothness on my skin after applying this! It definitely aids the process of makeup application!

This also holds up well through out the day. I mean, I live in a tropical country, what can actually stay in place on my face for the whole day? The struggle is real! The more important aspect is that this product doesn’t slip and slide around my face during the day.

Did I mention that this product is Vegan?!

I wish this came in a larger packaging because right now it is only 1 oz. 😦

The Balm Liquid lipstick review

dsc09714

I am currently wearing this lippie as I am writing this review. I honestly did not know that The Balm have come up with liquid lipsticks ever since I received these. But to my surprise, the wear of it is quite pleasant and comfortable.

Now lets get down to the nitty gritty… The The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes in Loyal & Doting that I have is nice.. It is wearable, comfortable and travel friendly. But the thing for me that separates it from other liquid lipsticks is that, it has a certain menthol scent on application. I also feel a little bit of sticky-ness on my lips when I do the thing you do when you apply lipstick. But pleasantly sticky nonetheless.

In terms of product transfer, there is not so much that it would be a problem. You have to give it time to dry first until you try to kiss a baby or something. But when it comes to lasting power, I couldn’t be too sure because I have definitely tried better in my day. But this can be a good option that is readily available in the market.

If you, my readers were to ask me which of these two are my favorite, it has to be Loyal! I love a good and lasting red liquid lipstick!
