Never cut yourself short.

I know you aren’t the best at Trigonometry, Chemistry or Chinese. But your grades on paper are far less important than the values and skills you will soon learn when you graduate out of high school. Don’t you ever feel disheartened by others or by results you didn’t expect but let that be motivation for you to keep going. You are far more capable of doing great things than you think. Never sell yourself short. You got this girl!

The friends you surround yourself with define you.

Like I sent before, you will be meeting all kinds of people. You will discover some rutts and meet some diamonds, its a process. You will loose some friends along the way, and that is okay. Surround yourself with people you love and who love you in return. You have yet to meet of an amazingly passionate and driven group of people in your life. You’ll know when you meet them.

Don’t do anything that you don’t want to do.

This does not only go for you, teenage Bea to hear this, but every girl going through peer pressure. We all get to an age when we meet different types of people(good or bad). You will eventually be experiencing parts of life that everyone goes through. But at the end of the day, it is your decision if you want to do it of not. Don’t do it because all your friends are doing it. Be your own person. Be your own boss.

5 Things You Should Do Right Now To Be Successful

How successful you are really depends on your own definition of success. Are you planning on landing your dream job anytime soon? Maybe open a new business? or just start to have a happy and healthy life? I am guilty of looking at habit and routines of successful women and try to incorporate some that can work for my life as well. But it is definitely easier said than done. 

Are you willing to start your own journey for success? Here is what you might want to try.

  1. Develop a hobby

I think that having a hobby aside from working your regular 9-5 is so important to have a work-life balance. Find out what you enjoy  doing outside of work and I guarantee you that you won’t regret it! In my case, my hobby is this blog that you are reading right now. This blog has helped me develop my writing and entrepreneurial skills in more ways than one. Aside from my blog, I also enjoy working out and going outdoor trekking. Never stop trying new things!

2. Find a Mentor

I think having a mentor can make a huge difference to your career. He/she doesn’t have to be a CEO or a President of some fancy corporation. But someone who you aspire to be or someone who can push you to achieve your career goals. Always help those who are willing to learn!

3. Surround Yourself With The Right People

I definitely think your journey to success depends on the people you surround yourself with. I think that it is important to create a support team that cheers you on and never doubts you, as you should be for them as well. There will always be some negativity one way or another, but surrounding yourself with equally ambitious people will help you motivated when things get rough! A mentor can also definitely be one of those people!

4. Learn One New Thing A Day

Kind of random but learning one new thing a day will help you boost your brain power. like staying up-to-date with current events! Whether you learn a super random fact, or you are trying to learn one new exotic word from the dictionary, it might just pay off one day.

5. Take Care of Yourself

As your success grows(because it eventually will), you will begin to realize that you aren’t getting any younger and you need to start looking out for yourself more than before. You are your biggest asset and never forget that success can bring some much craziness and happiness into your life. But can also bring stress and depression as well. So know your limits! Relax, work out, keep your body healthy and treat your body like a temple(keep it zen). What a difference it’ll make!

5 Simple Steps To Running Properly

running-runner-long-distance-fitness-40751Running can be a bit scary at first.

Take it from me, a person who retired from her 7 year soccer varsity life and just lost control of her life(&weight). But in the past 6 months, I have been slowly progressing from long walks to slow jogs to uphill sprints. And now, I just finished my first 12k race! Can you believe that?? 

I find running very therapeutic. Plus, it is a full body fitness and thats all about overcoming your fears and beating your personal fitness challenges. Oh when you do, you will feel invincible! Here are a few of my tips before you hit the pavement!


Start Slow..

Even though we can tend to get a bit excited when we start, your body is not going to adjust to high intensity workout on your first attempt. Start with frequent walking, hiking, swimming and jogging to help you building strength and develop resilience for more intense future workouts.

..Work Your Way Up

Trainers usually suggest starting with low intensity exercises for people beginning any kind of fitness workout plan, but if you are a regular gym junkie like me, you feel guilty when you take some time off. By alternating between walking and jogging in shorter intervals, it can help you get in the groove to a good running schedule.

I started mine with a 2 minute run and 1 min walk then worked my way up to 8 min run and 1 minute walk. 

Get The Right Gear 

One of the best things about running is that the gear is actually pretty low maintenance. The only thing pretty vital is if you wear a normal bra to run, you should change that to a well fitted sports bra to your workout look. I wear the Nike High Intensity Sports Bra and the Milennx Sports Bra in Beatrix.

When it comes to long distance runs, I like bringing a Nike Running Belt so I can carry my car keys and phone with me too.

Only Run With Running Shoes

We all know us girls, love mixing and matching our cute workout clothes but the most important piece of the puzzle is running shoes. You should always  and only be running with shoes that are made for running to avoid any injury or discomfort.

Legit running shoes can be a bit pricey but they are also a necessity. Nike does a bunch of running shoes that are widely available(and cute looking & can match with your cute outfits).

Do Dynamic Stretching

First things first before you run/jog, you have to stretch. It allows your body to warm up before you go the long haul. What I usually do is I walk about 200-300 meters then I do some static stretching, like stretching out my calves, ankles, knees and thighs.
