Christmas Party Makeup

Yes, its that time of the year where we actually have to make an effort to look presentable to the public and for the family photos. When the whole room is dressed up in tinsel, wreaths and festive colors, it is your obligation to join in as well!

Especially in this time of the year where in we are hopping from party after party, you would want some thing that’ll last a whole night of singing and dancing. So it is important that you build a good longlasting and less greasy base. A new discovery of mine is the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment in Light, which was in my haul(link here!). I treat this as a primer because of its matte like feeling on application. I lend to use this on the areas of my face where I tend to get oily. And then buff a pea-sized amount of the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation in Ivory.

Of course, the perfect base would not be complete without a great functional concealer like the Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer in 10 Light and a setting powder like the RCMA Makeup No Color Powder. These two products have changed my life. (no exaggerating)

Although a good base is (very) important, a little warmth around the cheek area would be a great addition too! The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour Blush in Exposed is a muted pink blush(not too pink& not too dusty rose) and the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Bronze-01 to add some shade to the cheeks, although this isn’t a contour shade because it has a warmer tone to it. At the moment, I am all about highlighting my cheekbones, and in the spirit of Christmas, highlight that beautiful face of yours with the Benefit High Beam. Then to top it all off, seal it with the L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Pro-Spray.

I specifically choose the Zoeva Rose Golden Eyeshadow Palette for this look because of its festive colors. A good combination that I use when I fancy dress are the first three shades on the upper left. I did a comprehensive review on this palette a few weeks ago(link here!) Then to add some more vavavoom, the K-palette 24h Real Lasting Eyeliner WP 01  with an unassuming cat eye would look so great!

One of the few brow products that I know that are pretty pigmented is the It Cosmetics Prow Powder Perfector in Universal Taupe. I swear this will last the next day even after you clean your face after a night out. Its that amazing! (Comment below if you want a review on this!)

Since a nude lip would look great with the eye look, using the Too Faced Perfect Lips Lipliner in Perfect Spice paired with the Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Echo Park. Both are really pigmented and long lasting.

Hey guys! My drugstore makeup tutorial video just went live, link HERE

I am a huge believer of drugstore brands and the products they come out with. Sometimes you really can’t tell which is drugstore and which is high-end! The look I came up with is more of a dressy face for when you hit the town but nevertheless, this is just shows that you don’t need to break the bank to get the best face.

I hope you like the video!

Festive Make Up Look

Christmas is just around the corner! This makeup tutorial is a more subtle look to my previous make up tutorial post. This look also comprises of more high end products compared to the last. I would wear this look everyday if I had the time to put all this on too. I am a sole believer of a shimmery brown eye!

To start, I obviously moisturized my face then applied Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation in Ivory. The name of this product is really true to its purpose. Its definitely FULL coverage. For a full coverage concealer to match, I used the Urban Decay NAKED skin Complete Coverage Concealer in Fair Neutral and a pink toned concealer, Benefit Erase Paste in Fair. With all that product, I need to set it with a powder. For my face, I used Shu Uemura Loose Powder in Translucent and for my under eyes, Make Up For Ever HD Powder.

To add a subtle warmth to my cheeks, the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Bronze-01 gave just that. I love how non-orangy it is. I love also that the compact is convex inside! The blush I used was the Savvy Classic Blush in Silky Pink. I didn’t want the pick to be too bright because I didn’t want it to over power my whole look. An odd thing I did was that I used an eyeshadow for my highlight. I used the Almay Eyeshadow in Creme Brulee. It wasn’t too eye catching or powdery which is GREAT!

For eyes, I distributed a substantial amount of Maybelline Color Tattoo in 80 Creamy Beige on my eyelid for good neutral base. The I grabbed the Lorac Pro To Go and used both shades, Cafe and Pearl to further intensify and enhance. But I am not done just yet! I added some shimmer using Tony Moly Eyetone Shimmer in S02 on the center of my eyelids to emulate that my eyes are popping a bit–in a good way of course!

For the lips, I showed two options. I personally like the brighter option. The brighter option is the Revlon Colorburst in Candy Apple. It is a more youthful shade but it is a bit harder to match in terms of outfit. While the darker and more vampy option is the Rimmel London Provocalips in 550 Play with Fire.
