My Everyday Makeup Routine


My routine lately has been pretty low maintenance, I must say. Since I usually frequent the gym after work I like to keep a light base. I literally just use the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer as my base, but apply it mainly under my eyes chin and the middle of my forehead. But before that, I always(always) apply sunscreen. Right now, I use the Biore Aqua Rich sunscreen. 

Then I set my face with the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation in Fair Honey. This is a really good powder to keep you matte most of the day. It also makes a bulletproof base paired with the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation in Ivory.

Any who, I then apply my bronzer, blush and highlight(standard). I’ve been bronzing up with the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Bronze-01 because I felt like I wasn’t giving it much love recently. I blush with my current favorite Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour Blush in Exposed and highlight with my new ultimate fave, Colourpop Supershock highlight in Lunch Money. It is seriously life changing.


For the brows, I amazingly still use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer in Medium Brown because it still hasn’t run out yet! I must say that you definitely get a bang for your buck on this one rather than the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown. One the eyes, I just splash a little bit of depth in with the Bobbi Brown Holiday 2014 Palette and the K-Palette 1 Day Lash Perm, which really does hold a curl very well and does make you look like a Panda after a hot shower.

Lastly for the lips, I like to keep it simple. The Urban Decay Comfort Matte Lipstick in Stark Naked paired with the Revlon Colorstay Liner in Rose is a good low maintenance lip duo.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Tinted Primer Review


If you haven’t noticed yet, I am (kind of) obsessed with Tarte bases. I think this one will be my 4th(?) already. I don’t know I keep loosing count. I picked this up on my trip to Australia last year. I wasn’t really in search of anything in particular, but since I am a creature of habit, I just had to get something ‘base’ related and then I stumbled upon the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment in Light! Ugh, can I just say this just BOMB! 

I just had to pick this up because my research told me that this (bb) cream was an all in one skin care, makeup invention! It is basically a primer, moisturiser and a light foundation. 

On application, the primer is matte on the skin and spreads evenly really well. I use this on top of sunscreen, even if it already has SPF 30 in it. The more SPF, the better! I feel that I don’t really need to add another base product on top of this because it’s consistency is a bit (thick), but not like too thick. 

I prefer dotting this all over my face then spreading it with one of those tooth brush brushes(not an actual toothbrush!). I instantly felt the difference of smoothness on my skin after applying this! It definitely aids the process of makeup application!

This also holds up well through out the day. I mean, I live in a tropical country, what can actually stay in place on my face for the whole day? The struggle is real! The more important aspect is that this product doesn’t slip and slide around my face during the day. 

Did I mention that this product is Vegan?!


I wish this came in a larger packaging because right now it is only 1 oz. 😦

11 Simple Ways To Practice Self Love


  1. Find a mirror, look at yourself and smile.

Remind yourself that “I am beautiful, I am worthy and I am enough.”

      2. Reorganize, clean out all your things that are miscellaneous to your life at hand.

I am sure you have some junk lying around your place that you totally don’t need! Don’t be too sentimental over material things and maybe give them to someone who needs them more.

      3. Adopt a morning routine that’ll make you start off your day on a high note.

I usually catch upon my Instagram and Snapchat feeds for a few minutes, change into my gym clothes, check that I have everything needed for my workout then I head out! This isn’t much of a routine, but I usually wake up extra early to workout so the real routine starts after the gym!

      4. Do things that you’re passionate about.

Find your niche interest, build a great idea and share it with passionate people.

      5. Socialize more.

This is something I wish I did more in college. Get out of your bedroom, your projects can wait. Go have some brunch!

6. Make to do lists for the day to complete tasks more efficiently.

Doing this would really help me organize my thoughts and at the end of the day, did I feel accomplished! Seeing all the tasks I have ticked that day!


7. Watch an uplifting TEDtalk.

Here are my favorites! How to live passionately. The power of introverts. Grit: The power of passion and perseverance. Your body language shapes who you are. 

8. Take breaks of fresh air through out the day.

Sitting in a desk all day can be quite stressful even if you aren’t putting yourself in any physical activity because your brain is doing all the work! Get out of that chair, grab a coffee and get some fresh air.

9. Make someone feel good. Compliment them and mean it.

Get to know and be aware of the people around you. Make someone smile for a change.

10. Forgive yourself.

Forgive yourself for lacking in self love. Forgive yourself for failing at tasks or making mistakes. Forgive yourself for undervaluing your worth and forgetting how incredible of a person you are.

11. At the end of most days(significant days), write down what you are thankful for.

Remember what you have and how lucky you are to have it. No many people live with a luxury of a loving family and amazing friends, or worse, a home. Stay grateful.
