Much Love To Renegade Folk | Brand Focus

I think this is my very first brand focus for a fashion brand, so forgive me if I am not the best. I initially started following Renegade Folk on their Instagram account, looking for a pair to replace my beaten up go-to sandals. But I ended up picking up three pairs ina span of a month and a half! I am not the most stylish or on trend woman(girl, lady), but when I like something, I will get them in all colors, shapes and sizes.

I love how Renegade’s style direction is very minimal, effortless and goes equally well in an office chic, smart casual attire(perfect for the everyday work girl or Tita of Cebu). I wish I found out about this brand earlier!

DSC00078The first pair I picked up was Her in Tan in a Size 8. I would like to call this very favorite Sunday shoe. I always wear this with a pair of jeans, colored skinny slacks or if I want to put a little effort, a frilly white sundress. The leather was a tad bit tight on me on the first try but it moulded to my feet eventually.DSC00085

My easy experience (as a whole) in getting this pair made want to pick up another pair ASAP! Did I tell you that you get a discount on your next RF shoe after you buy your first one? This pair comes in four other shades! Tan, Light Taupe, White and Zebra. I want to buy them all!

DSC00114The second pair I got was Hope in Tan. My closet rule is whenever I get a new pair of shoes or new clothes, I always throwout or give an old one away. And my old strappy sandals definitely needed some replacing(is that a good enough excuse to pick up another one?).

DSC00130RF’s unique leather is something I have only experienced with their products. They aren’t rigid, potent in smell or uncomfortable. They can even stand rain! This design is even more versatile in wear and is more office appropriate for client meetings and what not. This comes in three other colors, Tan, Light Taupe and White. Please make one in Gold too!

My last pair for this brand focus on Renegade Folk is Better Together in Light Taupe. I have been eyeing this style for months now. The Tita in me just couldn’t stop thinking about this design and all the ways I could wear it to work and other gatherings. Ugh! The possibilities are endless with this one.

DSC00237I choose a Light Taupe because I wanted something different from the usual palette in my shoe closet(just beige and black, tbh). This is just as comfortable to wear walking around town or just sitting in the office. I know this specific design isn’t ‘original’, but I must add that the leather they use for this makes all the difference. Love love love!

To the Folks at Renegade Folk, thank you for creating such an amazing shoe company that caters to all the basic girls out there(me). You really know what a girl wants in a shoe and more. Keep doing your thaaang!

Till my next pair! ❤

Bailey Nelson Colter Specs in Black Horn | Product Review

I don’t think I have ever mentioned this in any blog post of mine, but I have been an avid eyeglass wearer since I was about 5 years old, not by choice though! Now that I am 22 years old(almost 23), I have tried quite a lot of designs of specs in all those 17 years!

Upon my trip to Australia, I was already planning to get a pair from the brand, Bailey Nelson because of the different acetate finishes they offer. But I was a bit torn on getting either specs or sunnies. I then decided to get a pair of specs because it was more practical and I was sure that it would come to good use.

After around 4-6 trips of going to Bailey Nelson in Melbourne and Sydney, and after trying literally every pair of specs and sunnies in the shops, I FINALLY decided on what pair I should get! I got the Colter Specs in Black Horn(cheers).

Since I usually have 2 pairs of specs of the same grade, I usually prefer to have them in different styles, so I can use any of them depending on my outfit or mood. Before I picked this up, I already had a pair from Jonathan & Miller(this exact design) and I already had a few pairs that were a brown tortoise, so I didn’t want to pick another one just like that.

I chose the Colter Specs in Black Horn for its unique design. To some, it can just look like the regular all black specs you see in all optical shops. But if you look closely, there is an angle on the top part of the frame that frames your face in a unique way and the design of the acetate isn’t the regular black or brown, but a gray to black linear finish.

Plus, I felt that these frames would make me look smart(er) when working and dealing with clients!

I’d like to also add that the service at Bailey Nelson was really impeccable. Their staff were so nice and accommodating, addressing my spec concerns(because I have a few) and helping me find the perfect frame. I specifically got these frames at the branch in Pitt Street, Sydney.
