5 Things You Should Do Right Now To Be Successful

How successful you are really depends on your own definition of success. Are you planning on landing your dream job anytime soon? Maybe open a new business? or just start to have a happy and healthy life? I am guilty of looking at habit and routines of successful women and try to incorporate some that can work for my life as well. But it is definitely easier said than done.

Are you willing to start your own journey for success? Here is what you might want to try.

**Disclaimer: I am not saying that this is the only way for you to become ‘successful’. Choose what works best for you.**

  1. Develop a hobby

I think that having a hobby aside from working your regular 9-5 is so important to have a work-life balance. Find out what you enjoy  doing outside of work and I guarantee you that you won’t regret it! In my case, my hobby is this blog that you are reading right now. This blog has helped me develop my writing and entrepreneurial skills in more ways than one. Aside from my blog, I also enjoy working out and going outdoor trekking. Never stop trying new things!

2. Find a Mentor

I think having a mentor can make a huge difference to your career. He/she doesn’t have to be a CEO or a President of some fancy corporation. But someone who you aspire to be or someone who can push you to achieve your career goals. Always help those who are willing to learn!

3. Surround Yourself With The Right People

I definitely think your journey to success depends on the people you surround yourself with. I think that it is important to create a support team that cheers you on and never doubts you, as you should be for them as well. There will always be some negativity one way or another, but surrounding yourself with equally ambitious people will help you motivated when things get rough! A mentor can also definitely be one of those people!

4. Learn One New Thing A Day

Kind of random but learning one new thing a day will help you boost your brain power. like staying up-to-date with current events! Whether you learn a super random fact, or you are trying to learn one new exotic word from the dictionary, it might just pay off one day.

5. Take Care of Yourself

As your success grows(because it eventually will), you will begin to realize that you aren’t getting any younger and you need to start looking out for yourself more than before. You are your biggest asset and never forget that success can bring some much craziness and happiness into your life. But can also bring stress and depression as well. So know your limits! Relax, work out, keep your body healthy and treat your body like a temple(keep it zen). What a difference it’ll make!

4 Things To Remind Yourself When You Don’t Feel Good Enough

Don’t be envious of other people’s success

I know it can be tough seeing other people rise ahead of you(been through that) during trying times but you just have to understand that everyone has their own rainbow. Yours will come another day.

You’re doing alright

Pressure can sometimes play a big part in our everyday life, especially when we see others excelling more than you. But you know what? Everyone is different. Everyone is writing their own unique story. Remember you’re not doing all that bad. I always like to remember that I could be worst.

We all struggle

We are all human(duh). We all struggle from time to time or have moments of self-doubt. At tough times like these, I think its really important to remember the people we look up to or idolise to inspire us.

Long term success’ take time

If you were to ask any successful entrepreneur on how to be successful, they would tell you there is no such thing as an overnight success. Everybody goes through trials and challenges and these are what helps build a strong foundation the success that is about to come for you!

What Life Has Taught Me The Past 22 Years

Taken July 2015

Hey guys! This genre of a post might seem a bit out of place from my usual content. This post is in celebration of my 22nd birthday, which is today, April 21! I know 22 years isn’t enough to give full on life advice but maybe my personal experiences can make you get to know the blogger behind Bea and Beauty(me). So starting from the very beginning….

When you were young, you were made to believe that you had all the time in the world to achieve whatever you wanted to be. Honey, they were wrong. The world is constantly moving, so should you.

Life has no right or wrong answer. Write a story and make it YOURS!

One of the worst things primary and secondary school has taught me is that the more knowledge or good grades you have, the more success you acquire. But honestly, such knowledge is no use without critical thinking, good reasoning, and experience.

Don’t be swayed by different influences, especially during your most vulnerable years. Make decisions that better yourself–not to make yourself look good.

Don’t let society define who you are. When I was 16 years old, I was told that I wasn’t smart enough to study architecture, but where am I right now? Graduating soon. Don’t settle for what society and culture say. “Women should be housewives and child bearers.”–It’s 2016, do you!

Never subject yourself to a dull and uninteresting job that leaves you asking yourself at the end of the day: “Why am I even here? Do I really want this?” Start small and work your way up. It’s not how fast it takes but what it took to get there. Go slowly, but surely.

Basing this on personal experience, failure can literally cripple you. It can destroy you. As cliche as this may sound, there is always a silver lining. I wrote a post about what I went through, link here! Like success, failure also has a possibility of opening new doors, just know which one to hold open.

I am sure it would be really hard to make the right decisions when the people around you are never on your side. That’s why I always make it a point to surround myself with people whether it family, friends and significant others who constantly root for me and vice versa to always generate positivity and happiness.

This ties in with bullying as well. Never judge anyone for what you see on the surface for you have no idea what they are going through. By belittling someone, it just shows that the bully is weak that he/she points out the flaws of others but not themselves.

Never allow people to define your success. You were born for a specific purpose and with the power to achieve it! Although there might be millions of people who have the same dream/goal as you and that just makes the competition even more tough. That’s why you have to work your hardest, aim high and be exceptionally passionate with what you do.

Let the festivities begin!

Would love to hear from you!
