Tarte Amazonian Clay Tinted Primer Review

If you haven’t noticed yet, I am (kind of) obsessed with Tarte bases. I think this one will be my 4th(?) already. I don’t know I keep loosing count. I picked this up on my trip to Australia last year. I wasn’t really in search of anything in particular, but since I am a creature of habit, I just had to get something ‘base’ related and then I stumbled upon the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment in Light! Ugh, can I just say this just BOMB!

I just had to pick this up because my research told me that this (bb) cream was an all in one skin care, makeup invention! It is basically a primer, moisturiser and a light foundation.

On application, the primer is matte on the skin and spreads evenly really well. I use this on top of sunscreen, even if it already has SPF 30 in it. The more SPF, the better! I feel that I don’t really need to add another base product on top of this because it’s consistency is a bit (thick), but not like too thick.

I prefer dotting this all over my face then spreading it with one of those tooth brush brushes(not an actual toothbrush!). I instantly felt the difference of smoothness on my skin after applying this! It definitely aids the process of makeup application!

This also holds up well through out the day. I mean, I live in a tropical country, what can actually stay in place on my face for the whole day? The struggle is real! The more important aspect is that this product doesn’t slip and slide around my face during the day.

Did I mention that this product is Vegan?!

I wish this came in a larger packaging because right now it is only 1 oz. 😦

What’s Inside My Travel Makeup Bag | September 2016

By the time you are reading this, I will have already landed in the land down under! I will be travelling around Australia until early October with my brother. But don’t fret!, the bi weekly posts will still be on schedule and I will be throwing in some Australia bits in between. I have a lot of interesting things in store for this blog.

Okay, I am going to be honest and say that I won’t be talking about each product in detail on this post because I don’t really have the time at the moment. I am currently in the state of packing and trying to remember what things to take with me(I have a lot of shit). Check out the links of ALL the products on this post below to get them yourself!

So here it goes, I didn’t want to bring such a big makeup bag for me on my trip because I will be out and about everyday on adventures in the Australian coasts and mountains(HI, mom!). But I still wanted a loot that gave me options… Because a girl always needs options! I kept in pretty low key on my makeup bases with only bringing light to medium coverage foundations and moisturizers, 3 shades of concealers(very important), 1 bronzer, 2 blushes and 1 facepowder. See, very low-key.

L’Oreal Nude Magnifique Cushion// Kiko Make Up Milano Soft Touch Blush in 108 // Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light // Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed // Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 10 Light // Benefit Erase Paste in 1 Fair // Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer in Ivory // Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil in Light/Medium Bronze // L’Oreal True Match Concealer in N1-2-3

This part is where I get a little crazy! Except for the fact that I just brought a tiny eye shadow palette, 1 paintpot, 2 highlighters and 1 mascara. Although I went a little bit over board on the lips because….(no legitimate reason). But come to think of it, I have only 5 lipsticks and 3 lip pencils that are all different shades(I swear). Bringing two brow products are a must because we all have to those bad brow days(I am making that up).

But in all seriousness, I just wanted to take products along with me that I will actually make use of on my trip. A kit that would give various basic bitch makeup looks for me to try everyday.

MAC Paintpot in Groundwork // Bobbi Brown Warm Eye Palette Holiday Collection 2014 // Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer in Medium Brown // Maybelline Fashion Brow Duo Shaper in Light // Kat Von D Tattoo Liner // Too Faced Perfect Lips in Perfect Spice // Revlon Colorstay Lipliner in Rose // Kylie Cosmetics Lipliner in Dolce K // Nudestix Lip + Cheek Pencil in Mystic and Whisper // Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita // Colourpop Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick in Echo Park // KIKO Make Up Milano Highlighting Stick(DISCONTINUED) // Maybelline Lash Sensational // MAC Cosmetics lipstick in Velvet teddy Matte, Cosmo Amplified and Plumful Lustre // Benefit High Beam

The Review | Tarte 12 Hour Foundation

This was my first ever Tarte product. I have always heard so many good things about it. Plenty of beauty bloggers applaud the brand’s reliability and quality. And this foundation didn’t let me down.

Essie Lalonde (Essiebutton on Youtube) mainly talked me into getting this–not literally talked but you get the jist. I also say this on makeup tutorials that needed high coverage foundation. Most Tarte products’ packaging have a touch of bamboo–probably their signature.

This foundation is medium to high coverage which means, if you have trouble with redness or acne, this would be a god send for you–plus the CoverFx Cover drops!

The foundation is labeled as a 12 hour foundation. It does the job for staying on for 12 hours and it really does cover everything but when you are in a hot climate, this isn’t the best to wear everyday of the week.

You only need a pea sized amount for your facial application or a bit more if you plan to extend down your neck–if you don’t have acne to hide. A peas sized amount to me is just enough because its consistency is quite thick and you wouldn’t want a really thick cake face during a hot summer day.

But overall, I think this foundation is great! Its definitely not a drugstore find but its worth the price tag.
