Tarte Amazonian Clay Tinted Primer Review

If you haven’t noticed yet, I am (kind of) obsessed with Tarte bases. I think this one will be my 4th(?) already. I don’t know I keep loosing count. I picked this up on my trip to Australia last year. I wasn’t really in search of anything in particular, but since I am a creature of habit, I just had to get something ‘base’ related and then I stumbled upon the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment in Light! Ugh, can I just say this just BOMB!

I just had to pick this up because my research told me that this (bb) cream was an all in one skin care, makeup invention! It is basically a primer, moisturiser and a light foundation.

On application, the primer is matte on the skin and spreads evenly really well. I use this on top of sunscreen, even if it already has SPF 30 in it. The more SPF, the better! I feel that I don’t really need to add another base product on top of this because it’s consistency is a bit (thick), but not like too thick.

I prefer dotting this all over my face then spreading it with one of those tooth brush brushes(not an actual toothbrush!). I instantly felt the difference of smoothness on my skin after applying this! It definitely aids the process of makeup application!

This also holds up well through out the day. I mean, I live in a tropical country, what can actually stay in place on my face for the whole day? The struggle is real! The more important aspect is that this product doesn’t slip and slide around my face during the day.

Did I mention that this product is Vegan?!

I wish this came in a larger packaging because right now it is only 1 oz. 😦

Best of Beauty in 2016!

Yes, the year is finally coming to an end and it is time to pick some stand-outs that made all the make up magic difference. There were definitely some stand outs and classic favorites this year. I can’t wait to see what the make up industry has in store for their consumers aka me and all you beauty addicts.

Tarte BB Tinted Treatment in Light. I sort of treat this as a tinted primer and sometimes a bb cream because it has a bit of a tint to it and at the same time really mattifies my complexion.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Tinted BB Moisturizer in Ivory. I haven’t been into actual foundations this year because I honestly couldn’t bother buffing my face everything I went out. Plus, it was always super hot(as per usual).

Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer in 10 Light. This one has got to be my lifesaver of the year. I ALWAYS use this thing, even as an over all base when I would be lazy(most occasions). Its perfectly creamy and evens my skin tone. I am so close to opening my backup already.

Make Up For Ever HD Pressed Powder. This actually ran out on me(as every favorite product does) mid year because I would use this every time I used a powder(which is every time).

Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder in 52 Vanille. Yes, I put two powders in this list because I waited so long to have this in my hands and it was definitely worth it. It was everything I hoped for and more. (overreacting but yeah)

Shade & Light:

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. I know I put this in last year(link HERE!), but it still is my favorite till this day(as i’m writing this). I think Too Faced crafted this endless pit of a bronzer in a way that it hardly even dented itself after using it this whole time.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour Blush in Exposed. FAVE FAVE FAVE!!! Did I mention that it stays on forever? Lovely shade + Stays on the whole day = never going to let this go.

KIKO MAKE UP MILANO Shimmer Shadow Stick in 02. This stick of light is all I ever need. Unassuming in a sense that it isn’t lightsaber bright but enough to tie your everyday look together.

Eyes & Brows:

Maybelline Fashion Brow. Instead of rambling about how amazing this product is, please do read the review I made on this(link HERE!). TBH, I never felt this attached to a drugstore brow pencil.

Kat von D Tattoo Liner. This has been listed as the best liquid eyeliner in the market. I can’t contest to that. It’s damn amazing.

Revlon Colorstay Liner in Rose. This is my go to lip liner for casual Saturday night outs and work meetings. Appropriate for all seasons. Did I mention that it lasts on pretty long?
Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment
This is no hoax or some type of hyped up product. This actually works. I try to remember to apply this every night before I sleep because it the next best thing from coconut oil.

MAC Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy. I don’t know when this will not be on my list. This has got to be my all time favorite lipstick from MAC or ever. I have yet to try their other shades liek Taupe and Whirl but UGH! this is so good. It is my go-to lipstick when I can’t decide what to wear because peachy nudes never fail.

Christmas Party Makeup

Yes, its that time of the year where we actually have to make an effort to look presentable to the public and for the family photos. When the whole room is dressed up in tinsel, wreaths and festive colors, it is your obligation to join in as well!

Especially in this time of the year where in we are hopping from party after party, you would want some thing that’ll last a whole night of singing and dancing. So it is important that you build a good longlasting and less greasy base. A new discovery of mine is the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment in Light, which was in my Sephora.au haul(link here!). I treat this as a primer because of its matte like feeling on application. I lend to use this on the areas of my face where I tend to get oily. And then buff a pea-sized amount of the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation in Ivory.

Of course, the perfect base would not be complete without a great functional concealer like the Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer in 10 Light and a setting powder like the RCMA Makeup No Color Powder. These two products have changed my life. (no exaggerating)

Although a good base is (very) important, a little warmth around the cheek area would be a great addition too! The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour Blush in Exposed is a muted pink blush(not too pink& not too dusty rose) and the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Bronze-01 to add some shade to the cheeks, although this isn’t a contour shade because it has a warmer tone to it. At the moment, I am all about highlighting my cheekbones, and in the spirit of Christmas, highlight that beautiful face of yours with the Benefit High Beam. Then to top it all off, seal it with the L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Pro-Spray.

I specifically choose the Zoeva Rose Golden Eyeshadow Palette for this look because of its festive colors. A good combination that I use when I fancy dress are the first three shades on the upper left. I did a comprehensive review on this palette a few weeks ago(link here!) Then to add some more vavavoom, the K-palette 24h Real Lasting Eyeliner WP 01  with an unassuming cat eye would look so great!

One of the few brow products that I know that are pretty pigmented is the It Cosmetics Prow Powder Perfector in Universal Taupe. I swear this will last the next day even after you clean your face after a night out. Its that amazing! (Comment below if you want a review on this!)

Since a nude lip would look great with the eye look, using the Too Faced Perfect Lips Lipliner in Perfect Spice paired with the Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Echo Park. Both are really pigmented and long lasting.
